Allah the Almighty stated in the glorious Qura’an: " Verily, We have sent it (this Qura’an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)." (97:1). "We sent it (this Qura’an) down on a blessed night [the night of Al- Qadr in the month of Ramadan]." (44:4). Also Allah, the Almighty, said: "The month of Ramadan in which was the revealed the Qura’an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (for the right and wrong)."

In the month of Ramadan the Prophet, peace be upon him, used to recite the Holy Qura’an to Gabriel, peace be upon him. (Bukhari). And in the last year of his life, peace be upon him, recited it twice to Gabriel. The month of Ramadan is the month of the Qura’an, so lets read the Qura’an every day and review all of it during this month from cover to cover. Lets read it carefully and follow its instructions and orders. Lets review some of merits of the recitation of the Noble Qura’an:

Narrated Abu Umamah, May Allah be pleased with him, : I heard Allah’s Messenger, peace be upon him, saying, "Recite the Noble Qura’an, because it will come as an intercessor for its reciter on the day of Judgement." [Muslim].

Narrated ’Uthman bin ’Affan, May Allah be pleased with him,: Allah’s Messenger, peace be upon him, said, "The best amongst you is the one who learns the Noble Qura’an and teaches it (to other)." [Bukhari]

Narrated Ibn Mas’ud, May Allah be pleased with him, said, "Whoever recites a letter from Allah’s Book (the Noble Qura’an), he will be credited with one virtue, and one a virtue gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter." [Tirmidhi]
